  • Chase Ultimate Rewards points normally transfer to Air Canada Aeroplan at a ratio of 1:1.
  • If you hold the Aeroplan® Credit Card, you’ll now receive a 10% bonus when transferring 50,000+ Chase points to Aeroplan.
  • This limited-time promotion ends December 31, 2023.

Chase recently announced an increased sign-up bonus for the Aeroplan® Credit Card. You’ll get a Welcome Flight Reward certificate (worth up to 50,000 points) after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months, plus 10x points on travel and dining in your first six months (up to 51,000 points).

That’s worth $1,515, per Insider’s valuations — but if you know the best way to use Aeroplan points, you know that there are ways to squeeze hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars more from this bounty.

Aeroplan points is one of the most effective rewards currencies for flying just about anywhere on the cheap. So the latest promotion between Aeroplan and Chase is extra good news: If you hold certain Chase credit cards, you’ll get a 10% bonus when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan. I’ll explain how it works.

And now, if you’ve got the Aeroplan® Credit Card, you’ve got access to an exclusive promotion that’ll help you amass Aeroplan points faster.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio. But through December 31, 2023, Chase Aeroplan cardholders will get a 10% bonus when transferring over 50,000 Chase points to Aeroplan.

To transfer Chase points, you must have either the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.

Here’s a real-life example: The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card currently offers 80,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. If you were to earn this bonus and transfer 80,000 points to Aeroplan, 88,000 Aeroplan points would deposit into your account.

There are some important details you should know before you transfer:

  • To trigger the bonus, you must transfer at least 50,000 points in a single transaction.
  • You can receive a maximum of 25,000 bonus points per calendar year with this promotion. Because this promotion is valid until December 31, 2023, you can earn 50,000 bonus points at most.
  • When you transfer your Chase points, you won’t immediately see the bonus points. They will come as a separate transaction within seven days.

Because the bonus points may take a while to post to your account, it’s unwise to rely on them if you find an award flight that you want but worry it may disappear within a week.
